About the Position: First-level professional Forestry position accountable for preparing county fire plans and training county crews in fire suppression, timber management, and safety work. Jobs at this level prepare detailed forest management plans for landowners, mark timber, assist in locating timber markets, and supervise prescribed burning activities. Jobs at this level also plan and administer safety programs, inspect and direct maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, and perform fire detection and suppression activities.
What you'll need to be Successful: To succeed in forestry, one needs hard and soft skills, including ecological knowledge, technological proficiency, forest inventory and measurement, fire management, effective communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, and empathy.
