We are looking for: Senior GIS Engineer Technical Analyst The Senior Engineer Technical Analyst is responsible for the development and enhancement of standards and materials, including emerging technologies while continuing to meet all applicable regulatory rules and codes and solving problems for different work groups within compliance of all applicable rules. The position requires communication of these standards and direction to both engineers and operations in a concise manner that allows precise application of the standards and technology. The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst will lead moderately complex projects and ensure they are completed according to plan and budget. This position will be focused on developing and executing records improvement initiatives in direct support of improving the integrity and usability of the Gas & Land GIS (Geographic Information System) facility data. The analyst will ensure accurate information and representation of the Gas Network and related foundational data. This position may lead contractors to execute the critical records related initiatives. This position will need to align with key stakeholders regarding work and data management practices, data quality requirements along. The Sr Eng Tech GIS Analyst regularly provides input into the effectiveness of business processes as it relates to quantity, quality and performance measures regarding data management. The Sr Eng Tech GIS Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to drive the optimization of core engineering and operational processes, technologies and data. They will aid in translating requirements, objectives and business workflows into meaningful and actionable strategies and plans. This position will also support and provide recommendations to Geospatial Governance standard work and practices The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to: Must be able to research and understand advanced industry trends and provide utility benchmarking Communication and Presentation Skills Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, etc.) Teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new topics Company Culture Values, CE Way and Lean Tools Ability to manage multiple conflicting projects and priorities simultaneously Analytical and problem-solving skills We encourage you to apply if you have: Bachelor's degree in a technical field with four (4) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work/projects [OR] Associate degree in a technical field with six (6) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work/projects [OR] High School Diploma with eight (8) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work/projects Experience with utilizing ESRI products including but not limited to ArcMap and Pro to solve complex business problems is required Experience with asset management, work management, and document management systems and processes is preferred Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and Arcade is preferred In this role, you will: Approve highly complex construction prints, work instructions, and procedures Address complex concerns, investigate suggestions, and provide support, direction, and recommendations to the multi work groups effected Develop and maintain documentation processes associated with integrated systems including hardware, applications, protocols, detailed point lists and revision control Perform advanced research and development that leads to issuing updates to Consumers Energy's engineering and construction standards, manuals, design tools and documents that are used across the business to ensure compliance with laws and regulations Respond to incident investigations, responsible for causal analysis/incident reports Providing timely correspondence to external regulatory agencies Assist in the scope document process, project cost-estimates, project meetings, and closeout estimates Lead and/or assist with engineering projects to include design, inspections, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary Why should you join our team?
