Role and Responsibilities
The General Manager will lead the operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable services. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Key duties include:
- Overseeing day-to-day operational performance
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Managing regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
- Achieving financial and operational targets
- Leading operations and maintenance teams to ensure service reliability
- Developing operational processes for efficiency and consistency
- Managing budgets, overseeing capital projects, and maintaining schedules
- Using maintenance systems to track and achieve goals
- Leading employee development through training and performance management
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Overseeing contractual negotiations and partnerships
- Maintaining operational and personnel records in line with regulations
- Fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with management experience - MBA Preferred
- Experience/knowledge of Power Plant Equipment
- Technical background, ideally Process Engineer Certification
- 10 years of experience in a relevant technical or operational field
- Strong knowledge of business management, budgeting, and human resources
- Experience with labor relations
- OSHA and ISO 5001, ISO 8217 & other relevant compliance experience
- Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) experience/knowledge
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
