In your role as Firmware Engineering Manager at Kohler Ventures you will
- Work directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teams.
- Firmware Development Lifecycle Management: Oversee the firmware development process, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Firmware Engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Project Management: Ensure timely delivery of firmware projects with a focus on quality and performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate effective communication between the firmware engineering team and other departments, translating complex firmware concepts into actionable business strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure firmware reliability and performance.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Firmware design and development for embedded platforms or in a similar role.
- Significant experience in firmware development with a proven track record of leading firmware projects.
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware interfaces.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hardware debugging tools.
- Availability to work outside of standard business hours if needed to be able to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.
- Ability to travel 10% of time both domestically and internationally if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in the firmware development lifecycle, including best practices for design, testing, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g., MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART).
- Knowledge of power management techniques and optimization for embedded systems.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical and management information clearly and concisely.
The approved base salary range for this position is $135,250 - $172,800 The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5%-30% of base salary for the San Francisco Bay area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $175,825 - $224,640 depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
