About This Role:Our Inspection Technician must meet with the Municipal or Utility Inspector and provide adequate information regarding the solar installation process and system components. You may also be required to perform minor maintenance and repairs on solar systems during an inspection. The focus of this role would primarily be solar PV systems. job duties will include, but are not limited to, maintenance of PV solar components, commissioning necessary parts, completing repairs when necessary, performing technical corrective maintenance, electrical wiring and testing, and more. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has knowledge and experience with technical and electrical maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:- Maintain scheduling efficiency and cost control
- Facilitate inspections compliant with AHJ, HOA, OSHA and company requirements and procedures
- Work with Project Management to manage inspection requests
- Meet with AHJ inspector onsite with approved plans and review documents for accuracy
- Communicate correction or problems back to OPS Team
- Walk through project before inspector to check for potential problems
- Follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision
- Always looking for ways to improve efficiency and communication to make customer experience better
- Work with our CRM systems (Podio) to update the status of projects timely, and ensure all reporting and analytics is accurate
- Open electrical panels & junction boxes so the inspector can observe inside
- The Inspection tech will keep jobs moving efficiently toward permission to operate while meeting monthly KPIs
- Take notes for corrections and notify Inspection Manager of any issues or updates
- Keep inspection vehicle stocked with the necessary materials
- Other duties as assigned 2 Years experience with Enphase battery & Tesla Powerwall
- Assist in the commissioning of the solar array and monitoring systems during project installation when needed
- Respond to corrective maintenance cases on PV inverters, string boxes and solar panels. This includes troubleshooting, testing, and repairing activities
- Troubleshooting Solar (String Inverters, Optimizers and AC Microinverter Systems)
- Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters, string boxes and solar panels and other components
- Ensure that PV systems are setup correctly
Job Qualifications:- Journeyman license within the local state is required.
- Meet with city inspectors at the job site to complete on-site inspection (Travel 100%)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Able to identify/isolate roof leaks
- Ability to understand or have experience in Electrical Panels including Sub Panels (MBD derate, conduit bending, relocating circuits, etc.)
- Commission monitoring system(s)
- Ability to understand or have experience in Monitoring equipment
- Able to read and understand electrical plans
- Ability to understand or have experience with all AHJ guidelines within region
- Ability to troubleshoot an inverter that is reporting production loss
- Ability to understand or have experience with all types of Solar Equipment (Enphase)
- Experience in Electrical troubleshooting (Power outage, shorts, faults ETC )
- Understand of battery backup systems Enphase 5p's, Storz and Powerwall 2.0
- Understanding of Standalone Metering equipment (CT for production and consumption)
- Daily Travel is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements and have valid driver's license while maintaining a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:- Ability to withstand heights, be on roofs, and climb ladders (Daily)
Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs. routinely (Daily)
Ability to work in -0-100+ degree weather, as well as in wet and dry conditions
Ability to move around for prolonged periods. standing, kneeling, bending, Squat and climbing ladders (Daily)
8-10 hour shift
