General DescriptionJOIN OUR TEAM AS A SR. PROJECT MANAGER!The Sr. Project Manager applies sound Project Management techniques, processes, and tools for the planning, design, and/or construction of projects included in the Public Works Environmental Division programs, predominantly coastal management.
Essential Job Functions - Manages, plans, coordinates and supervises the activities of staff, engineering consultants, and contractors for the completion of assigned projects.
- Prepares and reviews scopes of work, fee estimates, construction cost estimates and schedules for assigned projects; conducts negotiations.
- Performs technical reviews of engineering consultants' studies, designs, plans, construction cost estimates, and specifications for coastal and environmental projects.
- Prepares and processes task orders, work orders, and memorandums for assigned projects.
- Reviews project status reports and invoices.
- Attends Board of County Commissioners meetings, creates presentations and other supporting documents as needed.
- Assembles bid/construction documents.
- Prepares requests for statements of qualifications (RSQs).
- Briefs upper management and County's leadership on status of assigned projects.
- Coordinates with the staff for the execution of agreements with funding partners and provides fiscal information, as necessary.
- Documents, resolves, and recommends actions concerning unplanned increases in project costs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Water Management District, and Army Corps of Engineers regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and construction documents.
- Ability to gather, research, compile, analyze, and organize information from files, maps, drawings, reports, and studies.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports; analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of an assigned task.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policy laws, regulations and codes.
- Ability to work within a team environment and collaborate across functional areas.
Minimum Requirements PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field and eight (8) years' of experience in the field of project management, managing multiple environmental projects
OR a Master's Degree and six (6) years' of experience. Five (5) years' experience working with environmental or coastal construction and design required. Experience in contract administration and negotiations.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification and/or registration as an Engineer in the State of Florida preferred.
