Ability to focus for periods of time with attention to detail is essential. Must be 15 or older with reliable transportation to and from work. Confidence in ability to swim and swim team experience preferred. Strong and effective communication skills with the ability and desire to provide quality customer service is essential. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must have or obtain an Ellis & Associates Lifeguard certification as well as First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire. Proficient in MS Outlook or other email system for communication.PRE-REQUISITES: 200 yd. swim & Brick retrieval from 12’ 4”, 2 minute tread w/ no handsDUTIES: Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Operations Manager, the Lifeguard will monitor and supervise designated swimming areas. Duties include but not limited to: maintaining constant surveillance to ensure the safety of participants in the water, slides, water play areas and all areas of the pool, maintaining pool and rescue equipment, keeping daily records, adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures, completing required in-service training, and maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck. Additionally will recognize and prevent potential hazardous or accident situations and rescue patrons showing signs of distress. Will administer swimming test as needed for party and group rentals and perform other duties as assigned.
