Description

Program Support – Aquatics
Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is hiring Program Support staff (Aquatics) to assist with developing and implementing engaging aquatic programs at the Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center. Ideal candidates will bring a strong aquatics background and experience in program administration. A bilingual pay incentive is available for staff who regularly use their bilingual skills!

Position DetailsKey Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate activities to meet program goals, including developing work plans and schedules.
  • Develop and implement program curriculum while providing guidance and leadership to part-time staff.
  • Collaborate with District programs and external agencies, serving as a liaison to program committees, community partners, and private organizations.
  • Foster an inclusive program environment that promotes positive experiences for all participants.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a combination of experience and training equivalent to:
  • Two years in an aquatic specialty area.
  • Completion of high school (twelfth grade) plus two years of specialized training equivalent to college coursework.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Schedule
  • Flexible shifts include:
    • Sunday-Thursday (early mornings)
    • Tuesday-Saturday (evenings)
  • Part-time staff may work variable shifts, up to 1,560 hours annually.
Classification Status
THPRD is hiring for multiple positions, and hours may vary based on program needs.
  • Part-time benefits (PTB) eligible employees work an average of 20-30 hours per week year-round and may enroll in a benefits package.

Leave
  • Paid Time Off - Paid leave type for part-time variable and part-time benefits (PTB) eligible employees. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! (available to PT and PTB only)
  • The ability to earn and utilize up to forty (40) hours of paid sick leave per year   
  • Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons  
  • Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
