We are partnered with a 100-year-old manufacturing company that is rapidly growing and looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to help support and service the pharma and biotech industry, supplying prescription packaging.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with the other functions and the shift teams to identify and deliver continuous improvements in all areas of the operation including EHS performance, reliability, quality and production costs.
- Closely monitor process conditions, analyze and investigate deviations from standard. Develop and drive sustainable solutions to restore the process to full function.
- Provide technical support for specific manufacturing unit(s) including monitoring performance metrics, troubleshooting and investigating product quality problems.
- Manage unit Process Safety Management (PSM) aspects including Management of Change (MOC) process as needed.
- Participate in incident investigations using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and/or other tools.
- Provide subject matter expertise / process knowledge of the unit(s) to all functions (e.g. Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, etc.) in regard to unit standard operating conditions.
- Provide expertise in the start-up and shutdown of the plant for planned and unplanned circumstances. Work with construction personnel to effectively install and startup plant equipment.
- Assist the Operations Leader in developing plans to ensure cost effective use of assets.
- Use six sigma or other defect elimination tools and lean tools to find solutions.
What You Will Have
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5 years of work experience in a plastics injection clean facility
- Excellent computer skills and be able to become highly proficient in the use of modern digital tools.
- Proficient in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Continuous Improvement
