Job Summary:NYSERDA's Communities and Local Government department seeks a dynamic team player to assist with managing grant projects through the Clean Energy Communities program (CECP), as well as assist with ad hoc tasks to support the Program.
Job tasks include:
- Manage a portfolio of projects/contracts with local governments supporting the CEC program;
- Work with program contractors and Community applicants to develop and process contract documents;
- Review deliverable and invoices and manage approvals/budgets;
- Complete compressive reviews of project deliverables and associated invoices;
- Engage with external stakeholders and customers to draw insights to improve program delivery:
- Identify opportunities for replication and showcase successes in ways that encourage scale across New York State;
- Identify and/or develop tools and resources that local governments can use to enable growth in the clean energy sector;
- Assist NYSERDA's external contractor (Clean Energy Community Coordinators) teams to provide technical assistance and local support to governments;
- Collaborate with State agency partners to participate in energy planning activities;
- Assist with the development of policies that influence, encourage and enable community leadership in areas of clean energy:
- Benchmark legislation, large carbon-reduction initiatives, community campaigns, and other activities that advance energy efficiency and renewable energy;
- Communicate with contractors (local governments) to negotiate contract terms/documents;
- Build out contract deliverable stages in Salesforce;
- Assist with solicitation development and support documentation enhancements
Required skills include:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, environmental policy, urban planning, engineering
- 3-6 years of experience of relevant project management experience
- A genuine passion for issues related to energy, environment and economic development
- Knowledge of local regulations, rules and constraints pertaining to renewable development, Energy efficiency, New York State Stretch Code, or climate change
- Strong stakeholder outreach and facilitation capabilities
- Experience working with local governments and/or clean energy businesses
- Ability to demonstrate strong strategic policy development skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, curiosity, resourcefulness, and adaptability
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly organized with attention to detail; and
- Strong computer and database skills
Compensation:
This is a full-time position as a Salas O'Brien employee working remotely. Benefits include a health insurance plan, a 401K profit sharing plan, and PTO. The position offers competitive compensation with an anticipated annual salary range of $70,000 to $90,000, based on candidate experience.
