Job DescriptionJob Description:The Sustainability Manager, in conjunction with the broader Hertz Sustainability & Impact team and under the authority of the Chief Compliance and Sustainability Officer, will be responsible for advancing the company's environmental sustainability strategy and priorities and supporting regulatory and voluntary reporting. The Sustainability Manager will work closely with internal teams across Hertz's enterprise as well as external stakeholders to identify and help progress opportunities for meaningful change, including (but not limited to) value chain decarbonization. This position is full-time and is preferred to be based in Estero, FL or Atlanta, GA.
The starting salary for this role is $110K; commensurate with experience.
A Day in the Life:This role will partner with Sustainability and broader Company leadership to ensure the environmental sustainability priorities are identified and the overarching strategy meets business, regulatory and key stakeholder expectations. This individual is expected to collaborate with and/or advise various business functions within the Company on their plans and processes as well as help ensure this work ladders up to the strategy and any associated goals or KPIs. They will also be expected to monitor trends and conduct peer benchmarking to ensure Hertz's approach is in alignment with established practices and supports reporting requirements. The Sustainability Manager will lead at least one key sustainability program, including climate, and will support other environmental topics even if the accountability structure lies elsewhere (e.g., water, waste, etc.). This individual will also partner significantly with Hertz's Director of Sustainability and Impact Reporting to support the Company's voluntary and regulatory reporting.
What You'll Do: - Manage 1-2 key environmental sustainability priority programs, such as climate, and maintain proper documentation of the program status and plan of record.
- Identify and support the implementation of key environmental sustainability program elements and associated controls.
- Work cross-functionally to identify data needed for both reporting and program management and engage with Hertz business groups to advance the oversight and auditability of that data (e.g., energy, water consumption, etc.).
- Monitor and help advance against any Company approved environmental sustainability-related goals, targets or KPIs.
- Strategically manage Hertz's comprehensive emissions inventory and oversee annual calculations and assurance process (including with third parties). Ensure proper documentation of inventory management plan (IMP) and workflows.
- Partner with peer groups and sustainability organizations to identify trends, conduct benchmarking and identify best practices.
- Engagement with sales or other internal business partners to support customer inquiries as required.
- Effective influencing skills and ability to engage even at executive levels.
- High level of integrity and operates with respect for others.
- Willingness to travel as required.

What We're Looking For: - Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical and managerial role implementing and managing environmental sustainability programs, with global corporate experience highly desirable. Proven ability in the development of programs from conception through integration is important.
- Subject matter expertise in the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, familiarity with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and ideally direct experience with conducting emissions calculations (or key methodologies).
- Experience in program management and strong project management skills.
- Experience with data integration and reporting systems, ideally Workiva.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Ability to cultivate program recommendations, feel empowered to drive change and have a level of autonomy.
- Work effectively across team and a matrixed set of business partners, handle multiple projects, and prioritize effectively.
