Shift: M-F, 6a - 3:30p

Position Summary:
Repairs and performs routine maintenance and repairs on company semi-trailers in accordance with DOT regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Trailer Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and complete repairs on equipment and property structures
- In conjunction with the fleet maintenance supervisor, implement preventative maintenance measures
- In conjunction with the fleet maintenance supervisor, maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
- Repair and maintain fleet equipment when required
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols
- Repair and Service various types of heavy equipment on a specific schedule
- Repairs and/or replaces trailer parts such as tires, springs, hydraulic cylinders, hoses, etc.
- Attend educational, industry sessions and seminars as deemed necessary by management
- Perform other maintenance duties as requested
Trailer Mechanic Education / Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required vocational school preferred
- Valid Driver License
- Knowledge of heavy-duty equipment front end loaders, forklifts & skid steers
- Must have mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Basic hydraulic knowledge also a plus
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Able to work well with minimal supervision this position reports directly to the fleet maintenance supervisor
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
- Able to work all shifts and overtime if necessary
- 5-7 years of experience a plus
- Must have own set of tools
- Ability to work occasional weekends as needed
