Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Aquatics Support personnel will work directly with the Senior Aquatics Manager at Hastings Water Works' headquarters by assisting them with day-to-day operations of the Aquatics/Lifeguarding Department. Responsibilities will include duties such as monitoring employee attendance, publishing and adjusting schedules, making and receiving phone calls on behalf of the Aquatics Department, as well as other operative duties. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills as well as a cooperative spirit when working with others. This is due to the nature of a work environment in which you will be working closely with other office employees, as well as frequently interacting with employees and patrons through phone and email communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Scheduling : - Responsible for publishing, editing and monitoring employee schedules
- Responsible for managing any open shifts within the schedule, and finding staff to fill open shifts
- Responsible for covering lifeguard/pool attendant shifts as necessary if unable to to find staff to cover open shifts
Administrative: - Responsible for answering office phone; ability to filter 80% of phone calls
- Responsible for data entry. Training will be given on platforms used
- Assist in communicating information to all HWW Aquatics employees
- Ensure all high priority information and situation updates are communicated to appropriate management personnel
- Responsible for managing department when management is out of the office
- Maintain thorough knowledge of company policies and department procedures/policies
- Additional responsibilities that may be assigned

Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Essential: - High school diploma, GED or in the process of obtaining a High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum age of 17 years of age
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record - to drive company vehicles
Preferred: - 1+ years lifeguarding
- A minimum of one (1) year manager experience
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business (Administration, Management, or Communications), Operations Management, Project Management, Human Resources, Public Relations, Communications or Comm. Arts, Information Technologies, Sports/Recreation Management, English.
Salary Description
$16 - $17 / Hour
