Promote excellent environmental services, provide facilities upkeep, and ensure the highest degree of project facilitation from beginning to end. Works alongside team members daily to ensure quality. Job Duties and Responsibilities Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel. Preparing and submitting required reports and maintaining budget goals. Inspect the quality of work performed by crews and contractors in area of responsibility and prepare reports concerning the work. Assist with Interviews and selection of staff and conduct performance reviews. Train personnel in work procedures and requirements. Handle staff relations issues and communicate with upper management. Manage multiple projects at one time and must prioritize appropriately. Communicate with other departments on work plans. Ensure world-class service is being delivered to zoo guests. Establish work standards and procedures and evaluate results. Investigate and respond to guest complaints. Order supplies, parts, chemicals, and other materials and maintain area within budget. Maintain various records and reports to monitor and track work activities. Responsible for assuring completion of teams assigned work orders in a timely fashion. Responsible for making sure all staff are in proper zoo uniform with name tags and work badges. Work closely with the Special Events staff to ensure all events are a success. Ensure staffs appropriate use of equipment and PPE. Contributes to saving animals in the wild through: reduction of waste, water and energy use and inspiring guests and staff to take wildlife protection actions. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.); or two to five years related supervisory experience in Mechanical work and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
