POSITION SUMMARY: The Team Lead operates a business within a business. Their responsibilities include the daily operations of the used firearms business, which encompasses three phases: buying, selling, and firearms customer service. This position initiates all 4473 forms with customers and is responsible for conducting the final check of applicable company, state, and federal forms prior to a firearm being transferred to the customer. The Team Lead focuses on creating a fair-trade environment that emphasizes customer satisfaction and aims to reach monthly sales goals to achieve maximum profit through buying, selling, and trading pre-owned firearms. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Evaluates and appraises used firearms, demonstrating knowledge of fair market values, professional negotiation skills, and a high degree of firearms identification knowledge. Initiates all 4473 forms with customers and conducts final checks of applicable forms prior to firearm transfers. Maintains inventory through daily buying and cultivating leads for potential gun collections, as well as awareness of local auctions and estate sales. Complies with all local, state, and federal firearms regulations as an employee of an ATF FFL licensed dealer. Conducts monthly ATF compliance audits and company-required audits. Merchandises used firearms and proactively arranges merchandise. Partners with Internet Specialist to recommend posting firearms that will achieve the highest potential margin. Communicates with Regional Gun Library Managers and the corporate used firearm merchandising team. Trains and educates Outfitters on acquiring and disposing of used firearms, current sales trends, and negotiation skills. Participates in ongoing training related to firearms, compliance, and selling techniques. Provides high-quality customer service on the sales floor and assists with customer inquiries and issues. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent experience Experience: 2-4 years experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: Must be 21 years of age Safely handle firearms Knowledge of purchasing firearms through industry experience or personal collection Good understanding of retail and computer skills Background in current firearms models Able to appraise and know the marketable value of used firearms Strong work ethic and ability to multitask TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Local travel to purchase used firearms outside the store PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constantly stand and/or walk during shift Constantly communicate with others to exchange information Constantly repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers Light work, including lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds (utilizing team lift as needed) Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and step stools Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools Occasionally work in noisy environments INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
