Job Overview The R&D/Product Development Engineering is responsible for the design and development of product line extensions of legacy products, focusing on sustaining engineering of contactors/relays, power distribution panels, and related products for applications in aerospace electrical power distribution and management systems. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and within a team-based environment. Responsibilities include determining product requirements based on internal/external product design specifications and Voice of the Customer inputs, planning and recording results of design, development, and sustaining activities, including validation testing, managing Bill of Materials for products, facilitating cost reduction activities, performing calculations, analysis, and testing to ensure that a product meets specifications, and providing support to both internal manufacturing, quality, Product/Project Managers, and external customers. Responsibilities Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, electronic or electro-mechanical degree 3-5 years of experience Knowledge of circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting Experience in mechanical design Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices and/or magnetics (e.g., relays and contactors) Knowledge of EMI/EMC is a plus Good communication skills, both verbal and written Experience in the use of Creo Wildfire software or similar CAD software Windchill PDMLink is a plus Knowledge of SAP is a plus Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus Knowledge of analog circuitry is required Knowledge of circuit analysis software such as TINA or SPICE Knowledge of ANSYS or similar analysis tools is a bonus Experience in Altium software or similar software is a bonus Proficient in MS Office Suite of Products Ability to read schematic diagrams What your background should look like: Generate and maintain project documentation including schematics, drawings, test data, and reports Design and develop electronic circuits while incorporating mechanical design Tasks will include using equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and additional test equipment Plan and record results of design, development and sustaining activities, including validation testing Design to cost target while meeting financial and performance expectations Manage Bill of Materials for new products Facilitate cost reduction activities on new and existing products Perform calculations, analysis, and testing to ensure that a product meets specifications Participate in and/or lead Design and Process failure mode and effects analysis Provide support to both internal manufacturing, quality, Product/Project Managers and external customers Initiate and manage engineering change activities, including notification to customers using external customer systems Collaborate with other colleagues and peers 10% travel domestic/international (Passport will be required) ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITY TE Connectivity is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future. COMPENSATION • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $88,300 - 132,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location) • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
