What You Will Do Spearmint Energy is seeking Electrical Power Engineering majors for consideration to join our company at our Miami, FL headquarters. The candidate will have completed a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in electrical power. Ideal candidate will have some experience in high voltage (>69kV) from internships or previous employment. This position will report to the SVP of Technology and will support various technical tasks related to supporting all phases of the interconnection process, develop internal modeling tools for supporting interconnection siting and oversee consultants’ deliverables and verifying accuracy and completeness. Core Responsibilities: Oversee all technical aspects and deliverables for successful interconnection application filings in various ISO/RTO’s. Review and opine on technical details of project documents related to substation and high voltage designs. Support Greenfield development efforts by using available modeling tools to assess ideal locations for interconnect new projects. Support M&A efforts by reviewing the technical details related to the interconnection assumptions and provide an internal view of the suitability of the proposed technical details. Support procurement efforts by leading technical reviews of Main Power Transformer’s (MPT’s) and other high voltage equipment (ex. Breakers). Lead technical related changes to interconnection assumptions with each ISO/RTO. Maintain the Technology Team’s Interconnection technical repository. Support the Director – Commercial Operations with optimizing O&M planning for HV facilities. Develop a working competency with modeling software to support responsibilities. Ensure compliance with company policies in health, safety, security, equity, ethics, and governance. Who You Are Electrical Engineering B.S. or M.S., electrical power emphasis. Collaborative working style. Ability to communicate technical and commercial information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders. Completion of basic electrical power engineering courses, familiarity with basic components of the electrical power system. Cooperative attitude with the ability to work with minimal daily direction. Proficient in MS Office and Outlook. Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
