Under thesupervision of the Program Director, the Workforce Readiness and PlacementManager is the primary point of contact for placement and follow-up servicesfor members. The Workforce Readiness andPlacement Manager develops and maintains relationships with employer partnersand identifies placement opportunities for members. This role serves as the primary contact withalumni and initiates and maintains regular contact with members throughouttheir follow-up year. The WorkforceReadiness and Placement Manager provides a key role in working with membersthroughout their active programming to identify strengths and career intereststo work towards a successful placement. Throughthe YouthBuild program, this role is referred to as the Job Developer. Primary Responsibilities · Prepare and deliver a placement and career readinesscurriculum designed to prepare members to have the skills necessary forlong-term employability. · Work with members to develop personal andprofessional goals related to career readiness.Monitor and provide updates to goals throughout members’ participation. · Maintain strong recording and reporting practices of engagementwith members, including member contact and employment documentation. · Secure employment documentation from members duringactive programming and follow-up year. · Complete accurate and timely entries into databaseswith assigned data. · Provide relevant information for mid-term and end ofterm evaluations of members. Participatein youth conferences as necessary to ensure that members are aware of theirindividual performance and can maintain steady progress to complete the programand achieve their goals. · Participate in orientation and Mental Toughnessactivities to better determine career goals and career readiness of potentialmembers. · Participate in weekly case management and program meetings,providing information as necessary to ensure strong communication on issuesimpacting members and their success in the program. · Actively participate in recruitment and retentionactivities of members. · Perform special projects and other related duties asassigned. Professional Background and Qualifications Education A minimum of bachelor’sdegree in business, workforce development, youth development or other relevantarea of study. Experienceand Qualifications · A minimum of two years working with youth (16-24 years old) · A minimum of two years business background,developing jobs · Successful completion of criminal backgroundchecks, including but not limited to fingerprinting, National Sex OffenderPublic Website (NSOPW) and state police background check Skills and Capabilities · Ability to read, write and communicateeffectively in English · Ability to manage multiple competing priorities · Ability to work cooperatively within amulti-program, multi-grant funded environment · Ability to communicate clearly andprofessionally, both orally and in writing · Ability to work independently, maintainingstrong attention to detail and managing workload · Possess extensive experience in Excel (required).Strong skills in Microsoft Office platform and the ability to learn andindependently use a variety of databases and reporting systems. · Ability to manage people and contribute to aculture of teamwork. Physical Abilities · Ability to lift and/or move at least 20 poundsusing proper body mechanics · Visual acuity to read a computer screen andother documents · Ability to utilize a telephone and respond tocallers Additional Duties · Develop an understanding of YouthBuild andAmeriCorps programs and philosophy and be able to effectively communicate thatto potential members and their families. · Participate in recruitment activities and assistin answering questions regarding the YCC programs. Maintain confidentiality of member informationas it relates to the program. Demonstrate respect for all members. · Actively participate in organization and programstaff meetings. · Establish collaborative relationships withmembers of the program staff team to ensure that employment documentation needsare met.
