Terracon Senior Archaeologist - Tempe, Arizona Are you looking to join a growing cultural resources team to help complete exciting archaeological projects including survey, testing projects, and data recovery excavations? We are looking for a Senior Archaeologist to work in our Tempe, Arizona office as part of our Environmental Services Line, cultural resources group in the Western Rocky Mountain Division. This is a full-time salaried position with health care and retirement benefits. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Manage small-, medium-, and large-sized cultural resources projects across the U.S. Southwest. Complete projects on-time and within budget. Operate as field director and Principal Investigator for survey, excavation, and monitoring fieldwork. Prepare cost estimates and proposals for projects. Understand and adhere to project-specific client/agency guidelines and standards for fieldwork and reporting. Oversee the analysis of field and laboratory data; synthesize these data into written reports. Author technical reports, research designs, treatment plans, and other technical documents. Contribute to business development for the office. Coordinate and assist internal and external clients with cultural resources regulatory compliance. Supervise and mentor cultural resources staff members. Maintain quality standards, following safety rules and guidelines. Requirements: Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field (MA, MS, PhD) and a minimum of 15 years of experience. Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA). Ability to obtain State and Federal archaeological permits within the U.S. Southwest. Experience authoring cultural resources management reports. Ability to perform all aspects of archaeological fieldwork in outdoor settings year-round. Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history. Knowledge of federal, tribal, state (AZ, NM), and local cultural resource management and historic preservation regulations. Meet US Secretary of Interior standards for archaeologist (prehistoric and/or historic). Desired qualifications: Ability to be permitted with Principal Investigator status on a General Archaeological Investigation Permit for New Mexico. Professional experience working on power generation and renewable energy projects. Experience marketing archaeological services.
