Shift: M-F 8 am - 5 pm
Pay: $35-42$ per hour.
Job Description
- Implement and maintain Vascular policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all, local, state, and federal environmental standards.
- Research, determine applicability, and implement plan for compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Develop and provide employee EHS training as it pertains to environmental programs (e.g. Waste Management and disposal).
- Support facilities operations and projects through environmental hazard reviews and creation of waste mitigation or reduction plans.
- Conduct inspections, assist with implementation of corrective actions and track observations to closure.
- Maintaining accurate records related to chemical inventories, complaint investigations, and shipments of hazardous wastes.
- Identify potential waste reduction opportunities and drive projects to reduce site waste output in support of Abbott sustainability goals.
- Mentor others by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, trade groups and peers from similar organizations.
- Represents EHS on committees, project teams, business reviews, etc.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to address current and anticipated Environmental and safety issues.
- Assist in the timely investigation of accidents and recommended preventative measures and ensure risk of recurrence is minimized or eliminated
- Train new employees and contractors to AV's EHS policies and procedures.
- Develop EHS training to comply with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Provide assistance and support for compliance with major safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Emergency Preparedness, Hazard Communication, Fire Prevention, Industrial Hygiene, Contractor Safety, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Electrical Safety, Biological Safety, Working at Heights, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Vehicles, and Ergonomics.
You will need to have: -
- Bachelor degree in EH&S, Engineering, or Science and a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment
- GMP experience with Pharma/Medical Devices
- Certifications: CSP, CHMM
- Practical knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures commonly utilized within the health and safety profession
- Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve objectives within established deadlines
- Excellent organization and communication skills,
- Self-motivation and capacity to work under limited supervision,
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and lead multi-disciplinary teams,
- 'Soft' skills (coaching/influence, negotiation, etc.) to help drive safety culture improvement and improve employee safety engagement
