Position Overview: The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive HR strategy across key areas including benefits management, compliance, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and development. This role serves as a strategic business partner to senior leadership and will be instrumental in fostering a high-performance and engaged workplace culture across all 4 Business Units for IES Holdings, Inc. Key Responsibilities: Benefits Management: Develop, implement, and manage competitive and cost-effective employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs. Regularly evaluate benefits offerings to ensure alignment with industry trends, employee needs, and organizational goals. Manage relationships with external benefits providers and brokers to maximize value and maintain compliance with federal and state laws. Compliance: Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA). Proactively monitor changes in legislation affecting HR practices, communicate updates, and implement necessary adjustments. Collaborate with legal department on audits and investigations related to HR compliance issues and ensure accurate record-keeping. Talent Acquisition and Retention: Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and retain top talent, aligned with the organization’s strategic growth objectives. Enhance the employer brand to position the company as an employer of choice. Collaborate with department heads to identify talent needs, develop job descriptions, and oversee full-cycle recruitment, including candidate selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation. Employee Engagement and Development: Design and implement programs to drive employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity. Develop and oversee training and development programs to support employee growth and leadership development. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to build an inclusive work environment. Strategic Leadership: Serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to executive leadership on organizational structure, change management, and workforce planning. Participate in setting the organization’s mission, vision, and culture; align HR initiatives to support these goals. Use data analytics to provide insights and recommendations on workforce metrics, turnover rates, and retention strategies. Succession Planning: Identify critical roles within the organization, assess current talent and define key competencies and skills. Develop a documented Succession Plan, implementing cross-training and leadership training. Engage and communicate with successors, continually reviewing and updating the Succession Plan. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred. 10 years of HR experience, with 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in benefits management, compliance, talent acquisition, and employee engagement. Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including labor laws, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence, motivate, and inspire employees at all levels. Experience with HRIS and talent management systems; proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Experience with UKG a plus but not required.
