This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose Provide technical and application support for EnerSys products and services, in the assigned area against profitable margins and in line with the business plan, in order to contribute to the realization of service-related sales and service targets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000. Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements. Is directly responsible for company assets such as service vehicles, inventory, tools, laptops, and test equipment. Maintains truck log, if necessary, according to provincial and or federal requirements. Maintains good communication with Field Supervisor. Completes and submits reports as required. Coordinates shipping and receiving, and in the field, material audits to identify shortages. Supports the installation of DC Power plants, BDFB’s, inverters, UPS, and DC Battery systems. Supports Commissioning of DC power plants, inverters, and battery conductance readings, testing of system and equipment alarms. Performs/supports rectifier and inverter module swaps, and updating system inventories. Performs/supports Preventative Maintenance routines, which would include completing reports and data analysis, which would identify key areas where the clients could improve their systems or are at risk based on the data collected. Installs data cabinets, cable tray infrastructure, including load bearing axillary systems, Fiber Optic Raceways, Grounding and alarm connections. Provides support for maintaining calibration of tools. Interacts with internal and external stakeholders. Travels when required to perform installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Contributes to company revenue and margin targets by supporting the execution of quality work within project timelines and budget. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Requires 2 years of related experience. Able to travel (overnight) to support in-field operations. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Teams. Strong mechanical aptitude. Able to work and demonstrate safe work procedures with hand and power tools. Able to comprehend and compose documents such as customer correspondences, technical manuals, memos, and reports in English. Able to perform math calculations and measurements. High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to identify and find solutions for complex problems. Thorough understanding of, and adherence to, safety policies and procedures. Able to identify changes in scope. A strong understanding of company procedures and policies. Strong knowledge of our client’s and industry standards such as IEEE. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced electrical understanding being able to identify and mitigate risks related to electrical circuits. The ability to use test equipment and interpret the collected reading/data. The ability to read electrical and construction schematics. Post-secondary certificate or diploma. General Job Requirements This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific driver's license and have additional driving requirements. Must be able to differentiate colors. Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times. Must be able and willing to be on-call. Risk of electrical shock. This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyone's safety. This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
