POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS) will coordinate all aspects of environmental, health and safety (EHS) management to successfully meet or exceed enterprise and business unit goals. The EHS Manager will report to an individual with responsibility in manufacturing or operations for the business segment. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for execution of EHS programs and procedures to meet enterprise and business unit EHS objectives with an emphasis on Safety and Accident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance and Resource Conservation. Execution of applicable EHS management systems including Corporate EHS Directives, ISO 14001 certification. Responsible for EHS reporting which includes performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, and corporate requirements. Manages an EHS training program for applicable EHS training required across the business unit from employee to leader. Coordinates an EHS corrective action program including audits, inspections, and assessments that identify EHS issues requiring corrective action. Coordinates a resource conservation program including energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste generated from production. Manages an EHS program for change including new processes, equipment, materials and people. Support awareness and integration of EHS into other functional areas such as Lean, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Sales, Service and Innovation. Supports an EHS culture of excellence for safety and environmental management through effective communication. Manages the EHS aspects of contractors that do work on site. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED - Bachelor's degree in health and safety management or related field 8 years of progressive EHS experience within the specialty area. 4 years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations. Applied safety management experience in an industrial work environment. A good working knowledge of EHS regulations. Experience with resource conservation and energy efficiency. Credentials and certifications are strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence people at all levels with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience managing change. Ability to comprehend and interpret applicable EHS requirements. Demonstrated experience with standardization, continuous improvement and project management.
