Lincolnshire REF: 10103 An opportunity has arisen for a bright, forward-thinking, commercially astute individual to join this large, progressive, and diversified, yet traditional, rural Estate. The Brocklesby Estate is a 27,000-acre, privately owned rural Estate in northern Lincolnshire, on the edge of the Wolds, and is the residence of the Earl & Countess of Yarborough. In addition to in-hand farming, let farms, residential and commercial property, renewable energy, development land, forestry, minerals, sporting, and heritage and conservation assets, there are off-estate interests and investments. The role will be extremely varied, and the wide range of professional work reflects the diversity of interests and activities on the Estate. Reporting to the managing director, you will be assisting in the management of many aspects, chiefly rural assets, on a day-to-day basis, but will also be able to identify and become involved in new opportunities and one-off project work. The Candidate The successful candidate will have a few years’ experience and a good understanding of estate management. Due to the wide variety of work, you will be capable of taking growing responsibility for some of the general day-to-day duties of managing a landed estate and working independently with minimum supervision. We are looking for an entrepreneurial asset manager, with good analytical, negotiation, people, and communication skills. Equally, you will be willing to recognise gaps in your knowledge and to fill them. Adept at keeping an eye on costs as well as increasing income or adding and creating capital value, you will also develop a knowledge and interest in taxation, and how it affects the Estate’s businesses and decision-making. The attractive total reward package offered will reflect the chosen candidate’s abilities and potential, and their flexible approach to the role and duties, and hours worked. Based at the Estate Office, full-time and part-time options are available. MRICS not essential – common sense and general intelligence are.
