Install conduit, wiring, and equipment with craftsmanship in a skilled and professional manner. Read and interpret electrical power distribution, control, ladder logic, piping, and instrumentation diagrams. Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot A/C and D/C motor control equipment. Install, troubleshoot, and repair 3-phase 460V power distribution systems, 120VAC control systems, and low voltage DC control systems. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and computer-based control systems. Use computer skills and computer-related equipment to diagnose problems with production equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot combustion equipment including gas trains, automatic control valves, and other gas-fired equipment. Understand, maintain, and repair process control loops. Determine if production equipment needs to be repaired or serviced; coordinate machine downtime and repairs with production management. Take an active role in the requisitioning of parts/materials necessary for the continued operation of the plant. Perform preventative maintenance routines as scheduled and as needed. Communicate maintenance issues with other shifts to ensure continuity of operation. Read and record comments in both Maintenance and Production logbooks. Ensure housekeeping in the Maintenance Department is maintained to a safe level and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored at all times. Must be able to report to work on time and work all hours required of the job, including mandatory overtime; may be required to occasionally cover shifts other than the one for which hired. Perform other work-related duties and projects as directed. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Experience: Minimum of five (5) years electrical experience working in a heavy industrial environment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in various aspects of troubleshooting and machine repair. Knowledge of proper and safe use of shop equipment and tools. Knowledge of VFDs, A/C and D/C motor controls, and combustion systems. Knowledge of NEC code book. Ability to read and interpret ladder logic control schemes. Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480V, 3-phase power distribution systems, PLCs, VFDs, A/C and D/C motor controls, and combustion systems. Ability to observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly. Ability to perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions. Ability to apply basic reading and writing skills. Computer skills in MS Windows environment; proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
