Overview TRC is actively seeking a mid-level Environmental Engineer/Scientist or Geologist for employment to serve in our Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in the Connecticut/Massachusetts/New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area. The position offers a flexible office location and includes potential for a remote/office work arrangement. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing projects and tasks at state and federally regulated sites as well as guiding and mentoring junior scientists/engineering staff in preparation of reports, engineering designs, interpreting regulations, and other facets of environmental consulting. Responsibilities Scope, cost, plan, and execute civil and environmental engineering projects throughout the Northeast region. Develop field work plans and manage field work execution, coordinate with subcontractors and clients. Interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites (and collaborate with other team members to establish conceptual site models). Evaluate, design and implement infrastructure and remediation projects, including developing rationales, preparing calculations, technical documents, plans, specifications and cost estimates. Write and review technical documents, reports and designs, ensuring consistent delivery of materials. Prepare environmental permit applications. Ensure firm quality procedures are implemented at project and task levels. Manage and develop technical junior staff in the fields of engineering or geology and environmental science, as appropriate. Work with other project managers on other strategic pursuits, including proposal development and participation in client meetings for other opportunities aligned with the applicant’s skill sets. Coordinate with TRC’s market-facing program teams on engagement with marketplace trade organizations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering, Geology, or related scientific field. Master’s Degree a plus. Connecticut Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) licensure required. Additional professional licenses a plus. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in consulting, environmental investigation and remediation. 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refresher current. 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety training a plus. Strong knowledge of Connecticut regulatory and remedial programs and guidance documents. Experience with New York regulatory programs a plus. Experience with environmental permitting, compliance, and auditing a plus. Experience in landfill and utility markets a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, GIS, ESRI, and/or HydroCAD a plus. Excellent and demonstrable interpersonal, verbal and written communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement/mentoring, diplomacy, and delegating skills. Willingness and desire to continue to improve and advance technical competencies. Ability and willingness to work independently and/or as a member of a team, including the ability to work on multiple assignments. Strong time-management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines and budgets. Must possess a valid driver’s license, transportation and be able to pass a pre-employment motor vehicle records check. Ability to drive, travel and perform work in varied locations including the office and in outdoor environments for short-term tasks. Successfully pass a drug test prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire. Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
