Job Title: Sr Communications Specialist Department: COM Digital Strategy & Corporate Brand Reports to: Director - Digital Strategy Location: In Office, Orange CT The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $83,804.80 - $104,756 Job Summary As part of the Brand & Social team, this role supports our Corporate Communications Strategy to use proactive communications to position Avangrid as a leading energy company that is a thought and innovation leader delivering safe, reliable, affordable and renewable energy in the US in a responsible and socially productive way so that our customers can be connected in today’s modern world. Acts as a Brand Specialist for the wider Corporate Communications team to direct and lead project activities from start to finish. Creates consistent content strategies that support Avangrid’s focus on Innovation, Safety & Reliability, Great Place to Work, Giving Back to our Community, and Sustainability. Responsible for the execution of assigned projects to ensure completion of the work specified, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Provides strategic support to Avangrid as a brand communications expert charged with supporting the positive impact of communications on internal and external channels. Oversees day-to-day management of content calendar to ensure consistent messaging. Supports day-to-day social media posting and content production process. Help manage digital communications platforms creation and development. Assist with special projects for the Corporate Communications team balancing stakeholders and expectations. Supports the brand communication strategy using a variety of media. Researches and leverages latest digital technology - internal and external to the organization - to build our brand and bring our culture to life. Understand paid strategy and how to use analytics to drive content. Maintain standards/guidelines on brand tone, voice, and curation content mix across all Avangrid companies and their platforms. Works on an ongoing basis to integrate strategic communication to all aspects of Avangrid activities and provides direct support to the different areas of business in the development and implementation of tactical communications projects. Reporting: manages all team reporting as necessary and makes recommendations and implementation for program enhancement and improvements. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: BS/BA degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing or related field. Minimum of 4 years’ related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to prioritize work and manage stakeholder expectations. Thorough understanding of social media channels, digital trends, and related tools. Ability to present complex and sensitive issues in a clear, easily understood manner. Strong collaborator, strategic thinker and problem solver. Team player - must be willing to jump in to support the larger team in order to meet overall goals & objectives. Must be able to work independently and also within a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at a variety of stages.
