Assignments shall also include providing technical support on diligence of potential acquisition opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop conceptual specifications and evaluate technology options for both PV & Storage. Use software such as PVsyst to prepare and optimize solar generation models for energy yield and prepare detailed energy yield assessments (EYAs). Create Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) model with consideration for EOL, cycle count, system throughput, augmentation, off-take, etc. Review and manage 3rd party/EPC generated energy models of SolarBESS systems. Lead review of EPC drawing packages, commissioning documents, interconnection documents, contract exhibits and relevant technical materials. Lead coordination with the Independent Engineer (IE). Provide technical oversight on external engineering consultants. Maintain detailed libraries of the various PV components and technologies, including solar modules, PV inverters, racking structures, and BESS. Provide technical support with conceptual planning, optimization of site system configuration and equipment selection. Provide technical review of commissioning & acceptance documents. SUPPORT FUNCTIONS: Provide technical support to development and operations staff on major contracts (e.g. EPC Contracts, BESS, Module, O&M, LTSA, etc.) Support operations with ad-hoc analyses of solar energy generation and BESS performance and other equipment performance. Utilize insights from regular plant analysis to develop, review, and analyze performance models using PVsyst modeling or other renewable energy modeling tools. Prepare technical feedback / lessons learned from operating assets to improve future designs. Assist in managing the deliverables outlined within the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Interconnection Agreement (IA), CA ISO New Resource Implementation Process, etc. Assist Development Staff in securing the appropriate approvals, certifications, permits, etc. from city and other government agencies as required. Assist with the development team during permitting efforts. Support construction team with technical reviews and coordination with external engineering resources. Support development and financing/investment team members with review and oversight of 3rd party revenue models like Aurora, Guidehouse, ICF, etc. Support the Investment Deal Team(s) with due diligence information and feasibility analysis of potential acquisitions and/or new business plans.
