Position Summary In this role, you will learn specific application of various NDT methods in compliance with customer requirements and specifications. You will work under the supervision of certified NDT Level II, or III personnel, assisting with NDT techniques without conducting or interpreting inspections independently. The position involves working in a dynamic Tiger Team environment, with potential for frequent travel and overtime. Some analytical skills are required to thrive in this role. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL The NDT Trainee will report to the Lead NDT Supervisor for their duties. If the NDT Supervisor is unavailable, another department representative will be assigned. Assist with NDT techniques under the supervision of certified NDT Level II, or III personnel. Be able to measure component dimensions using standard measurement tools. Learn NDT techniques such as Visual Inspection (VT), Dye Penetrant Inspection (PT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT), Ultrasonic Inspection (UT), and Eddy Current Inspection (ET) according to company procedures. Manage and maintain the equipment used for NDT inspections. Keep personal NDT training records up to date. Accurately document inspection details on company Quality Assurance forms with guidance. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced math or vocational/technical training is required. Vocational/technical training coursework must meet NAVSEA and ASNT Nondestructive Testing (NDT) training requirements, including classroom theory and partial method application, within the designated timeframe and will be verified by Oceaneering's NDT Level III Examiners. Must possess the physical ability to perform essential job functions. Proficiency in using standard measurement tools. Strong commitment to safety and quality in all work processes. Effective communication skills with internal teams. Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance issued by the U.S. DoD. Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country. Additional Information WORKING CONDITIONS This position is considered PRODUCTION/OUTDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows. The shipyard/base/manufacturing work environment; the site may contain mobility barriers with uneven ground level and obstructed pathways. Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site will be indoor/outdoor climate with various temperatures and noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
