The EHS Manager – Field Operations role ensures our installation and construction crews operate using safe methods, gear and equipment, our work sites are safe for workers, and that the company complies with safety regulations. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track key safety metrics, including incident reports, near misses, safety observations, and compliance rates across all installation sites. Regularly analyze safety data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports to present to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability in safety performance. Work with field leadership to establish and monitor safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with company goals, ensuring proactive measures are taken to minimize risks and improve field safety outcomes. Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures and programs to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves collaborating with leadership, labor unions, internal safety teams, field employees, and contractors to promote a strong safety culture, provide oversight of all safety events, records, documentation, procedures, processes, investigations, and systems. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive safety program specific to our construction and field installation EHS needs. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards. Collaborate with others to develop and deliver safety training programs. Ensure that all workers are adequately trained on safety procedures, equipment usage, and emergency response protocols. Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workshops to reinforce safety awareness. Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans. Maintain accurate records of all safety incidents, ensuring timely reporting and analysis. Monitor and enforce adherence to safety policies and regulations by all project personnel. Work closely with subcontractors to ensure their safety programs align with project requirements. Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits. Develop and implement emergency response plans for various potential scenarios. Foster open communication channels for reporting safety concerns and suggestions. Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE). Establish protocol for inspections of safety equipment to verify functionality and compliance. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures. Key Activities: Assess risks: Identifying and evaluating potential hazards. Develop safety protocols: Creating safety policies and procedures that meet industry standards and legal requirements. Implement safety protocols: Continuously monitoring and evaluating health and safety protocols. Ensure compliance: Ensure our crews and job sites are trained and that teams and individual employees comply with company safety standards (adhering to local and state laws, and industry regulations). Train employees: Holding regular safety training programs for new hires and employees, and providing targeted instruction for those operating machinery. Inspect sites: Conducting site inspections and accompanying safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walk-throughs. Reporting: Writing and submitting weekly safety reports and compiling and submitting accident and yearly reports to regulatory agencies. OSHA and DOT documentation and reporting. Managing programs: Managing the transitional return to work program for injured workers, and managing the safety incentive bonus program. Strategic Safety Mindset and Responsibilities: Drive increased safety leadership capability of all management/supervisors across TSP construction and field installation. Incorporate leadership ownership and accountability within the safety processes and ensure leaders are at the forefront of driving an improved safety culture and performance. Increase employee engagement/involvement in the safety process at all levels. Drive a culture of individual ownership for safe behaviors and conditions through active involvement in safety processes, including establishment of safety committees and proactive reporting of leading indicators. Develop and implement a leading indicator reporting program focused on reporting of unsafe conditions and behaviors to both increase employee engagement and proactively address hazards. Proactively identify the top hazards and recurring causes of injuries and develop/implement action plans to mitigate risks and significantly reduce injuries. Collaborate with Safety leaders across TSP and TNA to implement common, established safety improvement programs. Engage as an active member of the broader Tarkett safety community. Required Qualifications: 10 years of safety compliance experience on construction or projects involving installation crews. Key Skills and Abilities: Able to recognize hazardous acts and behaviors. Strong problem-solving skills. Active listening skills. Research and analysis skills. Sound decision-making ability. Possess OSHA certifications. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST).
