Requisition ID: 39474 Job Location(s): Tallahassee, FL, US Job Description The 2nd Shift Process Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of assembly, test stations, and other equipment to drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity in DTC's global manufacturing operations. The preferred hours for this 2nd shift role are 4:00pm - 1:00am, although there is some slight flexibility. This position will work closely with the software, process, and quality engineers to review requirements and implement test and machine controls for production machinery. Through the application of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, lead and facilitate the continuous improvement of methods and technology to reduce the time and material impact of tests while improving upstream assembly controls for better quality products. The person in this role will contribute to developing and driving DTC’s equipment performance, developing/advising on DTC’s Manufacturing initiatives, as well as working with manufacturing teams on improvement efforts for day-to-day operations. Job Responsibilities Responsible for processes and equipment to support new product launches and changes to the DTC product line. Direct vendor specification of new and rebuilt machines and equipment including test protocol to ensure the equipment meets Danfoss standards (safety and performance). Support shop floor needs such as device connectivity (torque tools, test and verification equipment, vision systems) and all deviations reported in the lines. Provide daily support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution. Collect data and make data-driven decisions, reporting results using Operations indicators. Build rapport with colleagues from other functional areas and work well in cross-functional settings. Ensure sustainability and continuous improvement projects. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. Behave ethically and responsively, modeling Danfoss’s “Behaviours in Action” and supporting the core values of the organization. Other duties as reasonably assigned. Background & Skills Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience. 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations. PLC and/or automation experience. Interpersonal and presentation skills with a diverse group of colleagues. Strong skills in data analysis and root cause definition. Experience with Lean manufacturing practices. Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs. Preferred Qualifications: Lean Manufacturing. Siemens PLC experience preferred. Some experience with training needs assessment, design, and delivery. Familiarity with SAP ERP concepts. Handling Nonconformities Process & Tool Box (4-Steps, 8D, Pareto Analysis, Check-Sheets, Cause & Effect Diagram, Graphs, 5-Why analysis). Change Products & Process & Tool Box (PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, Capability Study, Manufacturing Process). English communication skills.
