TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes. The Production Operations Manager – RFO will provide leadership and daily direction to all areas in the RFO (Rugged Fiber Optics) department at our Fairview, NC location. Ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures. Responsible for all related activities for RFO in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost control. Establish and maintain a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include: Establish and lead safety, Health and Environment objectives in all RFO areas. Ensure compliance to all safety and Quality policies and procedures. Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing function to ensure the most effective return on assets. Interact regularly with Operations Frontline Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership. Be a visible presence in manufacturing areas. Maintain all compliant manufacturing records (Aerospace, Government regulatory and others as applicable). Provide leadership and adequate resources to support the quality systems. Ensure compliance to daily production schedule. Conduct daily operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings. Ensure budget and financial forecasts are developed and met. Partner with Finance function to provide accurate operational information and establish product costs and update standard assumptions. Partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels and delivery of finished goods. Partner with the Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital. Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of TE assets and other resources. Through leveraged knowledge of current technology and market trends, participates in the definition of advanced products required to sustain a cost-effective competitive position. Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital. Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence. Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction. Manage spending against budget and in relation to production volume. Establish management practices in department to encourage employees’ positive involvement, with the opportunity for constructive input and action. Responsible for training and development for the department. Direct or support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades. Supervise/manage direct reports (including decision-making for hiring, promotion and discharge). May lead or participate in regional or global projects. Other duties as assigned. What your background should look like: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years’ experience, including 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Those without a degree that have an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, preferred. Wire and cable, Fiber Optics manufacturing experience, preferred. COMPENSATION Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $119,300 – $178,900 (subject to change dependent on physical location) Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
