The Hotel Chief Engineer's primary responsibilities include general maintenance of the hotel and upkeep of all hotel facilities, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment, following energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. The Hotel Chief Engineer will supervise all engineering and maintenance operations and personnel, following company and brand standards, to ensure the highest maintenance and guest satisfaction levels are maintained. Hire, train, schedule, and manage maintenance staff. Ensure a safe environment that protects the assets, guests, and all hotel associates. Develop, implement & direct all Emergency programs. Ensure all equipment is maintained. Conduct inspections & drills, and ensure compliance with all codes and regulations. Requirements for the Hotel Chief Engineer include: High school diploma or equivalent GED. Exceptional follow-through; strong organizational skills, and time management skills are required. 3-5 years of hotel or building maintenance or engineering experience required. Property maintenance certifications preferred. Able to obtain and/or maintain any government-required licenses, certificates, or permits. When required, be available at the hotel during bad weather conditions. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during the entire shift.
