We currently seek a Director of Construction based in the Midwest to lead construction and operations teams responsible for the implementation of renewable energy projects within commercial, industrial, institutional, and government markets. Responsibilities: Provide hands-on leadership, planning, direction, and management of large renewable energy project contract administration, construction, and commissioning resources to assure total quality and project delivery on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Plan, budget, track, and effectively manage organizational and team resources to achieve business objectives. Manage the renewable construction interface with engineering, plant operations, and business development teams. Oversee the development of detailed scopes of work and preparation of subcontractor bid and contract documents. Evaluate technologies and equipment to recommend most suitable for each project application. Monitor vendor and subcontractor coordination to assure competitive cost, best schedule and delivery. Perform critical review of all submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions. Manage, review, and approve project construction cost and budget activity and provide monthly forecasts. Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed monthly project status reports and schedules. Provide updated report documentation as well as tracking, technical assistance, and internal collaboration. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes. Cultivate positive and effective business relationships. Perform other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in engineering or energy infrastructure-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Minimum of 10 years technical engineering, energy services, and/or consulting experience leading the construction and implementation of multi-million-dollar energy efficiency and renewable technology projects. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections for energy savings performance contracts. Excellent working knowledge of building automation and energy management systems, facility operations, and installation projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, building automation, energy conservation, or distributed generation projects. Proven experience with building simulation, project estimating, measurement and verification. Financial planning and budget experience, with ability to develop a business case. Advanced proficiency with MS Office, including Excel abilities. Proficient knowledge of energy analysis software, including EQuest, DOE-2, Trane/Trace 700, Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills required. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships. Valid Driver's license issued by state of residence and in good standing.
