This role involves acting as a senior electrical engineer, designing critical power systems for new data centers and expansions to existing data centers. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for large data centers, with in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Systems and Power Distribution System design and installation. Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP is required. Responsibilities: Manage projects, create designs and plans, gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role for data center facility design projects. Create conceptual designs based on client meetings. Work with management to respond to RFPs; review shop drawings and submittals; review and respond to RFIs. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within company policies. Represent the company in project meetings as needed. Collaborate with design staff and oversee full cycle electrical design activities. Interact with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents and develop project specifications. Execute and lead design teams and projects of complex scope. Perform advanced electrical design tasks including development of electrical distribution systems and equipment layouts. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings. Review and prepare specifications for electrical systems. Assist in proposal development including project scope, schedule, and budget. Manage project design team including resource forecasting and coordination. Identify potential project scope changes and develop strategies to minimize impact on costs and deadlines. Support contact for design clients and build effective, long-term client relationships. May direct interns and other engineering staff. Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports. Prepare project design and construction documents. Review and complete punch lists and project closeout documents. Prepare project progress reports for stakeholders. Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI log. Qualifications: 8-15 years of experience. Experience working for MEP firms or A/E firms. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar degree. Licensed PE/EIT is a plus. Experience with the design process for data center and mission-critical projects. Knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems. Knowledge of codes for electrical systems including Electric Code, Life Safety, and Energy Conservation Codes. Technical/design software experience including short circuit coordination and arc flash studies. Experience with Revit MEP projects, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM is a plus. Exceptional organizational skills. Skilled in performing code analysis to meet requirements. Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. Effective communicator in various formats. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous experience in the Military is a plus.
