Position Details Job Title: Director, Capital Planning & Construction Position Type: Full Time Annual Hours: 2,080 Base Months: 12 Hours per Week: 40 Department: Facilities Service Admin Work Location: On-site: This position operates on campus Eligibility for Visa Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Responsibilities Campus Planning: Guide the development of campus facilities and infrastructure planning in line with the campus master plan, identify development opportunities, enhance accessibility, and activate spaces. Data Analysis & Project Prioritization: Collect and analyze facility data using a deferred maintenance database/software tool, provide reports to leadership on deferred maintenance data and project forecasts, recommend project priorities, define design concepts and standards, and provide project estimates. Plan & Project Management Execution: Generate detailed plans for specific campus areas, utilize facilities capital planning tools and deferred maintenance data for informed decision-making. Translate planning concepts and technical analyses into actionable plans, coordinate project planning, define and implement project execution methods. Project/Program Management: Direct and monitor projects managed by the project managers to ensure effective, timely, and fiscally sound management practices are maintained. Interact with contractors and vendors. Make informed recommendations for the use of the annual multi-million-dollar college renewal and replacement program, reporting on budget, scope, schedule, risk planning, and mitigation strategies, ensuring timely project execution. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture plus a minimum of 7 years of related building and project development experience or comparable combination of education and experience to include supervision and management of personnel and construction projects; knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the campus master plan processes and guidelines; ability to read plans, skill in interpreting construction/project drawings and information, and knowledge of standards and best practices; detailed knowledge of facilities and building systems maintenance and operations, knowledge of facilities condition analysis through the use of an FCI/NAV or other calculation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational, collaborative and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field; PMP Certification; knowledge of the principles and practices in the areas of urban planning, landscape architecture, and infrastructure considerations; college or related campus planning activities such as development impact analysis (e.g. visual impact), land use, space utilization, and development of the campus master plan processes and guidelines; experience and knowledge of building energy intensity analysis, renewable energy production systems, and facilities construction.
