Knowledge of environmental issues pertaining to sustainability goals, technologies, energy procurement, and relevant energy/ventilation codes. Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, including federal energy management programs. Skilled in statistical data collection and analysis. Advanced skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and motivating others to achieve work output. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), report creation, and file system management. Strong presentation, communication (analytical, written, oral, interpersonal), and team collaboration skills. Ability to perform root cause analysis, collaborate across teams, and manage tasks under pressure. Skilled in delegating, evaluating performance, setting goals, analyzing data, and communicating technical concepts. Ability to read building plans and blueprints. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Professional Engineering Licensure (PE). Job Description Responsible for the management of energy engineering, energy conservation, utilities analysis, and building metering functions as well as supporting plant automation. Oversees university’s energy and water management usage and makes recommendations to improve energy demand reduction efforts. Ensures energy and water data reporting meets state and federal compliance. Supports the Sustainability Office with data reporting and technical expertise. Job Duties Supervises and monitors activities of the Energy & Resource Conservation office. Develops internal energy and water conservation projects consistent with the University Master Plan goals. Oversees utility metering, billing, and reporting for the university. Reviews plans and specifications and serves as a technical resource for university energy and water system improvements. Reviews and analyzes alternative improvement solutions for existing energy, water, and natural gas source contracts. Performs other duties as assigned.
