This position will report to the Site Manager . Job Scope The Operations Manager will have a multi-faceted role at the LA site. First, they will provide oversight to the day-to-day operations of the facility. This includes overseeing all Production and Maintenance activities. The individual will focus on driving high performance in Process Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, and Efficiency. Second, they will lead specific initiatives and projects in pursuit of site continuous improvement to transform the site into a world-class aerospace service facility. The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader with strong business acumen and lean, six sigma. As required, they will assist the Site Manager in providing leadership to all production and technical staff, setting individual objectives, and helping drive performance improvement. This position will report to the Site Manager and will be a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT). In summary, as the Operations Manager, you will: Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance at the plant with emphasis on Process Safety by managing all aspects of the Production Department and other direct report departments in complete compliance to EHS federal and state laws as well as all corporate standards. Support Supply Chain by manufacturing products on time, in full and to agreed quality. Be involved with incident/near miss reporting and investigations, including review of incidents and assignment of further investigations using 5-why or root cause methodology. Communicate openly and approach discord positively. Use Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC or other tools as needed to improve efficiency, quality, and cost of production. Compliance to applicable quality systems. Provide leadership and guidance to Production and Maintenance Departments. Set clear expectations for performance and accountability. Develop talent through coaching and feedback. Support 5S process to continue improvements in Production area housekeeping. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering, in Chemical Engineering, or BS Mechanical Engineering. MBA is considered a plus. Ten (10) years minimum, preferable in process plant operations activity. Chemical manufacturing experience. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written). This position may require some involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). This involvement may require an understanding of applicable rules and procedures associated with RCRA wastes. A combination of training methods, e.g., Computer-based Training, Classroom, and/or On-the-job training, will be provided prior to any such involvement with RCRA regulated wastes.
