LOCATION: Hybrid- Oklahoma City, OK; Orlando, FL; St. Louis, MO ABOUT THE JOB The Tepa Companies are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will participate in project design from the conceptual phase to the construction phase. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with the various project teams to develop, refine, and update design criteria, and design direction, and be responsible for the generation of engineering plans, specifications, and where applicable, cost estimates. The successful candidate will have experience with federal, state, and local government clients, in addition to experience with private clients. Job Functions: Makes decisions independently and receives supervision and guidance largely on overall objectives and results. Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables. Completes technical assignments such as: Perform tasks of Mechanical Engineer on MEP projects, including preliminary field investigations, scoping, and budgeting of projects, and identifying methods of project execution. Based on the complexity of projects and individual registration, the Mechanical Engineer may or may not be called upon to serve as the engineer of record (EOR). Development of schematic, 30%, 60%, and 100% design phase documents, technical specifications, construction plans, and construction bid package documents Simulation and computer modeling of building HVAC and building energy systems Design of HVAC systems to include building code review and analysis, HVAC load calculations, and equipment sizing Prepares all types of designs, layouts, basic plans in conformance with applicable codes and design standards from preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other information. Execute projects to include HVAC new and retrofit projects, interfacing with clients and contractors, project cost estimation, energy auditing of large HVAC systems and controls, identification of energy conservation measures, rebate identification and procurement, boiler and chiller plant upgrades, DDC systems and building stimulation energy modeling. Provide support during construction both in the office and the field, including site visits, performing construction submittal reviews, and addressing requests for information (RFIs). Maintains effective in-house team relations, and outside client relations as needed. Prepares technical reports, correspondence, and calculations and prepares technical recommendations. Produces non-routine plans, reports, and specifications. Prepares cost estimates. May supervise junior engineers or CAD design staff. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, or similar from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university 5 years' experience Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to become licensed within a year of hire Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously Advanced understanding of design best practices Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to prepare reports and edit proposals AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Trane Trace 700, EnergyPlus Existing local area industry and vendor relationships Previous Federal Government project design experience; preferred Previous State of Florida project design experience; preferred J-18808-Ljbffr
