Standard Solar, a Brookfield Renewable Company, is a leading independent power producer focused on developing, acquiring, funding and operating DG-scale solar energy and storage projects throughout the US. We are looking to expand our in-house legal department with an attorney who has direct experience with preparing and negotiating agreements for EPC, equipment procurement, O&M, asset management and various agreements and matters relating to the construction and operation of solar and storage projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead transactional counsel for solar engineering, procurement, construction, and operations. Manage and lead activities by working with internal teams in areas including, but not limited to acquisition, development, construction, major equipment procurement, operations and maintenance, asset management and project finance (tax equity and debt). Review, draft and negotiate relevant agreements including EPC agreements, master service agreements, procurement contracts, O&M agreements, asset management agreements, construction contracts, and other relevant transaction agreements. Provide general legal support to the construction, asset management, engineering, and development teams. Play an integral role in the broader in-house legal team. Interface directly with counterparties (major equipment suppliers, contractors, EPC providers and subcontractors). Engage and manage outside counsel. Reports directly to the General Counsel and Chief Development Officer. Minimum Education, Skills and Qualifications: Juris Doctor (or LLB) from an accredited law school. At least 2-3 years exposure to EPC, procurement or asset management matters for solar energy projects; exposure to storage projects is a plus. In-house or law firm experience. Strong working understanding of EPC and procurement contracting. Ability to work closely with cross-functional internal teams.
