As a valued member of Danfoss Drives, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing projects and contributing to the design and development of new enclosed drive (panel) products and existing panel product maintenance in a cross functional team setting. Job Responsibilities · Research, design, evaluate electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical components, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, by applying knowledge of engineering principles. · Prepare designs, specifications, analysis, and recommendations for development of new enclosed drive products and panels. · Prepare designs, specifications, analysis, and recommendations for sustainability of existing enclosed drive products and panels. · Manage projects related to Sustainability or new development of enclosed drive products and panels. · Render technical advice and assistance to other engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. · Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions and to reduce cost. · Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. · Maintain records pertinent to each project in the form of timeline, sketches, drawings, material specifications, etc. · Participate in the construction and testing of prototype products. · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or advanced course work in areas relevant to product development and product maintenance · 3 to 5 years of experience working in product design and development and/or sustainability engineering. · Familiarity with applicable safety and product standards such as UL508A and UL61800-5-1. · Possess UL508A ‘Manufacturing Technical Representative’ certificate or be able to complete certification within 9 months of hire. · Ability to manage medium scale development or maintenance projects as both a project lead and electrical engineer contributor. · Proficiency in ECAD software (e.g., EPlan, AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation tools for design and analysis. · Experience with component selection and design of Enclosed Drive systems and panels incorporating power electronics devices such as drives, active filters and associated power components. · Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematic documents. · Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies. · Results oriented self-starter with track record of delivering results. · Demonstrated ability to provide work with internal and external customers especially regarding product design specifications. · Ability to work effectively in a high quality, deadline driven environment. · Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team. · Global mindset and excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate across all levels in the organization. · Good time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in developing effective systems and processes.
