We are seeking an Electrical Superintendent - Medium Voltage to support operations in Champaign, Illinois. The successful candidate may be asked to work on projects in other US locations as needed. Salary range: $135,000 to $165,000 per year based on experience. What You’ll Do: Responsible for overseeing activities associated with Medium Voltage for any assigned utility-scale projects. Review and offer value engineering for electrical engineering design. Maintain advanced knowledge of Electrical and General Construction codes and be the electrical construction subject matter expert for the group. Work with PV Project Manager on developing schedules and budgets for work activities. Work with site management to ensure self-performance and/or subcontractor MV work on-site complies with code and contract drawings. Ensure NEC, NEDA and UBC Code (Standards) compliance on design and installation of all Medium Voltage work. Identify and communicate to Project Manager any conflicts between contract documents. Work with Project Managers to identify and execute solutions. Lead, motivate and manage multiple teams of field personnel in their daily activities to achieve and exceed both project specific and overall Company goals and objectives. Set the sequence and assignment of work to minimize exposure to job site safety risks and to keep the installation on budget and on time. Monitor and manage all aspects of the execution of the work: labor, material, schedule delays and additional mobilization. Participate in pre-construction project reviews to determine resource requirements, develop a schedule and cost of the project. Translate, interpret, and ensure adherence of installation to construction schematics, design, specifications and manufacturers recommendations. Provide or ensure daily status updates are generated on active construction projects. Meet inspectors and walk them through projects, discuss Code in detail as needed. Coordinate and complete inspection items and warranty requirements. Assist when requested to interface with inspectors and clients to ensure all project close-out objectives are met. Prepare and issue accurate, detailed and prompt reports which include but are not limited to: Daily Reports, Weekly Reports, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Master Weekly Report and tailgate meetings. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. What You'll Bring: 6 years of electrical experience within the utility scale solar and renewable energy industry, including medium voltage. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering is preferred. Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record. Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility jurisdiction requirements and OSHA regulations. Journeyman Electrician certification or NABCEP certification preferred. Certified in OSHA 30, preferred. Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards. Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently. Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
