The successful candidate will work in office in Washington D.C. and report to the Vice President of Development. Position Function: The Development Coordinator is a key member of the development team, helping to meet fundraising goals to carry out Earth Day’s work in the U.S. and around the world. The individual in this role will help take our donor recruitment and stewardship practice to the next level. This regular, full-time position will ensure the success of our CRM tools and help us optimize their use. This position will bring vital expertise and a collaborative attitude to instituting data best practices that will help us expand our donor-centered fundraising programs. If you have a passion for conservation and the environment and a commitment to helping grow the organization and deliver outstanding donor service, then this may be the career move you’ve been seeking Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring timely acknowledgement and stewardship of all gifts Working with the Development lead on creating an annual development calendar to ensure year-round engagement and stewardship of individual and institutional funders. This may include fundraising emails. Assisting Development lead in determining appropriate systems to ensure accurate processing and fulfilling of all donations, the accuracy and management of donor records and files, invoicing, reporting, and prompt donor acknowledgement. Assisting Vice President of Development with developing, implementing, and interpreting operating policies and procedures for development. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the constituent relationship management database. Ensuring data integrity within EDO, creating, promoting, and governing standardized data-entry practices. Helping establish a dashboard for tracking fundraising goals. Developing processes for capturing and recording data from fundraising and program activities, such as donor events and rapid-response campaigns. Producing segmented lists for fundraising, program, and communications activities. Running financial reports and analyzing data to share with the Vice President of Development. Monitoring external donation portals to ensure prompt acknowledgement. Assisting with donor outreach, developing content for communications with donors. Remaining up to date on industry best practices for stewardship and cultivation. Performing prospect research to look for new funding opportunities. Performing other duties as assigned (such as donor and funder research). Qualifications: Three or more years of demonstrated experience in a development or customer-service oriented role, including CRM experience with ability to conduct data imports, queries, and exports that produce detailed and accurate reports. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office software, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills. Commitment to ethical fundraising standards and practices. Graphic design experience preferred. Passionate about the EARTHDAY.ORG mission. Superior tact, discretion, maturity, and judgment in handling highly sensitive, often confidential information. Ability to occasionally work during the weekend or evening. This is a sedentary position, in which you may occasionally need to lift and carry books or files up to 10 pounds. Location: The position will work from EDO’s Washington D.C. office. Compensation: EDO offers compensation commensurate with skills and experience and will include a competitive benefits package. Salary for this position will be in the $55k-$65k range commensurate with experience and considering locality.
