BD Electrical & Solar is a leading provider of electrical and solar installation services in the Greater Boston area. We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Electrician with a focus on solar installation to join our team in the Plymouth and Barnstable counties. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills in both electrical systems and solar energy installations under the guidance of experienced professionals Responsibilities: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and solar panel installations. Support site assessments to determine the best placement and configuration of solar electrical equipment. Help with electrical wiring, connections, and testing of solar panels to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues related to solar panel systems. Follow local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards. Work alongside licensed electricians and solar installers to gain hands-on experience. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Provide excellent customer service, including educating clients on the benefits and operation of solar energy systems. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Enrollment in or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program. Basic understanding of electrical systems and principles. Strong interest in renewable energy and solar power. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in electrical or solar installation (even as a hobby or volunteer) is a plus. Familiarity with solar energy systems and components.
