Job Summary EMCOR Construction Services Midwest (ECS) is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in our Fort Wayne, IN or Indianapolis, IN office. The Mechanical Project Engineer will work with the rest of the mechanical design team to support in the design of mechanical and plumbing systems with a focus on Educational and Government entities. This individual shall provide engineering support for energy conservation strategies and MEP construction projects working alongside an experienced Sr. Project Engineer. The Mechanical Project Engineer assists the team in solidifying complete solutions and provides clarity through design. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform load studies and envelope/operational analysis. Perform field investigation for systems, layout, drawings, etc. Size equipment through selection software and vendor coordination. Generate HVAC and plumbing plans and perform drafting utilizing AutoCAD. Coordinate design of additional disciplines such as Architectural, Civil, Structural, Fire Protection, etc. Develop and generate details & schedules. Perform on-site installation inspections and attend construction meetings. Perform punch out/job close out. Assist with building audits, and analysis of existing systems. Remain familiar with codes and standards. May be needed to assist in presentations & client interviews. Perform some client sales calls/outings where warranted. Attend/perform presentations and seminars, when necessary, to remain informed on current products and systems. Involvement with public/industry groups ASHRAE/USGBC/AEE is supported. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of experience in the HVACR industry with a Mechanical/HVAC Engineering background. Proficient use of AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Trace 700. Experience with other system design software. Experience with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, or similar programs preferred. The ideal candidate would be able to conceptualize and carry out the design of such systems from beginning to final product. This person should be self-motivated, innovative, competent, responsible, proficient, and organized. This person should be personable and must work well in a team environment. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar accredited Engineering Technology program required. Professional licensing or certifications strongly encouraged, but not required. Background in Design Build or Guaranteed Savings Projects a plus.
