Join the AMC team now and embark on the journey of a lifetime AMC’s White Mountain Trail Crew is the oldest paid trail crew in the country, founded in 1919. Our 2024 season is brimming with technical trail work in front-country and backcountry locations throughout the region. Crews work ten-hour days, four days on, three days off, Monday through Thursday, with rare exceptions. Crew Leaders sometimes have additional responsibilities such as project reporting and logistics. 2024’s Fall work consists of several large-scale projects including rock work, trail relocation, wood stairs, and more. Projects range from two to nine weeks with opportunities for backcountry camping during work weeks. Days off housing is provided at Camp Dodge, including meals and amenities. Job Duties: Coordinate and support a crew of 4 trail crew members Supervise the construction of trail structures Layout project work and check specifications Train and supervise crew in tool use Work in various weather conditions Foster teamwork and responsible stewardship Plan menus, order food, and assist in meal preparation Respond in emergencies Communicate with Trails Program staff Assist with maintenance of tools and equipment Drive AMC vehicles Represent AMC professionally J-18808-Ljbffr
