Our successful Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), Electrical Engineering (EE), and Traffic Engineering Design (TED) groups are seeking an Entry-Level AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bentley OpenRoads Technician to work in our Minneapolis, MN office. This position does not require a bachelor's degree in engineering. SRF offers a hybrid work model, allowing our staff to work from the office full-time or work part-time in the office and part-time remotely. Please note that we require all entry-level staff to work in the office the first six months of employment prior to transitioning to a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities: Providing CADD technician role in plan development for ITS, Electrical Engineering, and Traffic Design Engineering projects primarily for a variety of federal, state, local, and private industry clients. Supporting ITS/EE/TED design as described below. ITS Tasks: Support preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for different ITS and CAV technologies including: Connected and automated vehicles (CAV) Advanced traffic management systems Traveler information systems Transit technologies Intelligent work zones Wireless and fiber optic networks Electrical Engineering Tasks: Support preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for various electrical engineering components including: Lighting for roadway, parking, pedestrian, and trail applications Low to medium voltage (up to 4 KV) power distribution Electrical and electronic technology devices Renewable energy technologies Traffic Engineering Design Tasks: Support preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for traffic engineering design including: Traffic signal design Signing and pavement markings design Overhead sign structural design Construction staging and work zone traffic control Detour signing Connected vehicle signal applications Qualifications: Strong aptitude for success and learning Ability to thrive within a cooperative team atmosphere Two-year civil engineering technology degree or equivalent related experience Proven ability to develop and produce ITS/Electrical/Traffic Engineering Design drawings 0-2 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility as an AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bentley OpenRoads technician is preferred but not required Team-oriented and proactive attitude towards CADD implementation Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and MS Outlook) SignCAD experience is a plus Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
