The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy engineering, project management, and design, with the ability to oversee projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards. Job Responsibilities: Lead the design and engineering of rooftop, ground-mounted (fixed tilt and single-axis tracker) solar systems. Develop project layouts, electrical designs, and integration plans using industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVcase, and Helioscope. Conduct energy production estimates, performance tests utilizing regression model (per ASTM standard), and system optimization. Project Management Oversee the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies, preliminary designs, permitting, construction support, and commissioning. Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams, including construction managers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of projects. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. Technical Leadership Serve as the technical expert on solar technologies, particularly rooftop, ground-mounted fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker systems. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Ensure projects meet regulatory standards, utility interconnection requirements, local building codes, and agreed deliverables per SOW in contract with the client. Coordinate with permitting agencies, utilities, and other regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (NEC, UL, ASCE, etc.), Electric Utility Co standards, and safety regulations. Quality Assurance Review and approve technical specifications, design documents, and engineering reports. Conduct site assessments, performance testing, and troubleshooting for ongoing projects. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 7 years of experience in solar PV engineering, with a focus on rooftop, ground-mounted, and single-axis tracker systems. Proven track record in delivering large-scale solar projects from design through commissioning. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, PVcase, and other industry-standard design tools. Strong understanding of electrical, structural, and civil engineering principles as they relate to solar PV systems. Knowledge of interconnection requirements, permitting processes, and relevant regulations. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months. Experience with battery storage and hybrid systems is a plus. Familiarity with SCADA systems and plant monitoring technologies.
