JOB SUMMARY: Candidates will work as a part of our Building management team, collaborating closely with Textron Aviation maintenance and facilities personnel to ensure the optimal performance of building systems. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for HVAC, lighting, and other critical infrastructure. The Building Controls Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving system issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee/facilitate computer-based control systems that manage a building's mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC and energy management systems. Diagnose and resolve issues with direct digital control (DDC) systems and other control devices. Program and configure control systems to optimize building performance and energy efficiency. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently and reliably. Research, test, and analyze ideas for possible system and process improvements. Integrate technologies to enhance organizational efficiency for building automation. Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting/monitoring. Conduct equipment and economic evaluations, develop cost estimates and schedules, and provide progress status. Assist and lead implementation of capital projects per approved budgets. Routine contact and oversight of vendors, contractors and consultants. Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions to technical problems. Support Energy conservation projects. Comply with Safety culture and practices, including support of mandatory inspections to meet federal, state and local regulatory requirements. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s Degree in: Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Controls Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or other related fields. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, time, priority setting and project management skills. Sharp eye for detail. Great analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in mechanical/electrical devices, basic controller/processor and programming preferred.
