Safety Specialist Support EXPERIENCE: • 0-5 Years of experience in a related field or industrial setting is preferred. • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, health, science, or a related field is preferred. • Additional certifications are preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Safety Specialist Support Representative plays a critical role in ensuring workplace safety, compliance with safety regulations, and the development of safety programs within an organization. They are responsible for identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards, conducting training, and promoting a culture of safety. This position will work under the direction of the Safety Specialist and support this role in the proper management of all safety-related programs. Safety Program Management Asbestos Barricade / Floor Opening Confined Space Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring Fall Protection Hazard Communication Hearing Conservation and Noise Monitoring Hot Work Inorganic Arsenic Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) OSHA PPE Program Assessments Respiratory Protection Safety Data Sheet Management Safety Inspections This position will be responsible for supporting the effective management of all above-referenced programs including inspections of current work, review of completed work, and proper records retention. This includes but is not limited to work site walkdowns, housekeeping walkdowns, and records gathering. Safety Training This position will be responsible for the effective training of all above-referenced programs in support of the Safety Specialist. In addition, this position will assist in all annual or event-driven trainings such as new employees, annual compliance training, or annual contractor orientation. Incident Reporting and Investigation This position will provide ancillary support in all internal or external program audits concerning the Compliance Department. Safety Communication This position will support the Safety Specialist in the proper communication and delivery of all above-referenced programs. This position will also support all safety-related plant teams and meetings, including membership on the Safety and Wellness Team. This position will attend departmental safety meetings (weekly or monthly) and communicate deficiencies or concerns back to the Safety Specialist.
